the captive audience

if you have children, you may know this feeling they are always watching and doing whatever mom is doing exactly the same, its how they learn, so I must be showing my GOOD side all the time! my true love comes from God himself, in raising them I am successful, I'm glad I can finally say that!!
Everyday I am reminded, how much I am doing good, they are healthy, fed, clothed and provided for but not my means, or work but by GOD! I could ask for anything better!!

RUN BUNNY RUN!!!

Well, here it is Saturday, dec 13, 2014

today was a cold run, the sun wasn't shinning outside, but the son in me was!

I ran 8.5 miles today and my initial goal was to only do six, but as I rounded that second to last curve I started to believe, I could run more today, so I did and it resulted in 23.5 miles for the week, I am super excited about training for this ten mile race!! I am loving every mile more and more!!

I am really staying on top of it, making it a personal appt with myself everyday to run even if it is for two miles only! I WILL get there!!

That's all for now!!

my day started at 6:30am, I had my coffee, breakfast, got caught up in the face book news, then hit the road and ran the kids around, then visited with my parents which was amazing to say the least, I enjoyed more coffee, I ate oreo's and not only was it rest day, it was cheat day too!!!! my husband and I went to LUNCH and we spent all afternoon just talking and catching up, who does that anymore really??? SHHH we had pizza and I don't at all feel guilty about it!!! Inner strength

Maximizing your Potential---in Body, Mind, and Spirit!

whether you have a naturally athletic build, a figure that's curvaceous, or on that's willowy, there's good news: you can develop some of the physical attributes you've always wanted but didn't get from mother nature or your gene pool. the truth is, with strategic work, every woman can become fitter, stronger, more toned, more self assured, and sexier YES SEXIER!!! That's an outcome that's realistic and healthy. That's a GOAL that is achievable and believable. That's a goal that is right for everyone male or female, young or old, fit and unfit!

With the right physical and psychological moves, you can really turn the body you have into the body you want, losing inches, dropping pounds, and developing a stronger more sculpted look and greater mental fortitude in the process.

If the goal of getting fit and strong has seemed to daunting and complicated in the past, you were probably going about achieving it the wrong way, sorry to lay that on you, but that is the unvarnished truth. Maximizing your fitness potential isn't as difficult or taxing as many people make it out to be. It involves just three critical elements: a blend of strength training workouts (resistance training), cardiovascular exercise , and the right moves to enhance flexibility, it really is that  simple. combine these cornerstones of fitness with healthy eating habits----upgrading the nutritional quality of your food choices, using food primarily as fuel, eating regularly, snaking  strategically, and exercising " liquid" intelligence (choosing your drinks smartly)---and you'll soon be on your way to a leaner stronger, fitter physique.

you won't just look better, you'll feel better too!
if your active enough to break a sweat and get breathless during any give workout, your brain will reward your body with endorphins and other feel good chemicals. your body will burn fat and extra calories during the session and afterward. Your circulation will improve and you'll like get better muscle definition, smoother digestion, and greater strength and stamina for physical activities and the activities of everyday life!!!

Through strength training you are really going to rev up that metabolism, which will help you burn more calories faster, and stay slim and sculpted for a longer period of time! Even a brief workout can help you regulate your appetite and ward off cravings!!

Your body is an incredible powerful machine--- that is, when it's operated and maintained properly. few things work better the more you use them , but  your body will if you take the right steps on a regular basis to restore, recharge, and refresh the new three RS, just as your car needs good quality gas and oil to run properly , your body needs essential fuels and fluids in the form of clean anti-inflammatory, health promoting foods lots of water,
your body also need daily breaks for maintenance and recharging.
we don't have the option to plug into an external power source, we need our internal power source to recharge us both physically and mentally by getting adequate sleep and rest.

SO EAT CLEAN, TRAIN MEAN, NEVER GIVE UP, AND REST!!!

Abs separation, carrying babies around in your tummy!

If you have children, you maybe wondering why you can't get a flat belly, no matter how much or hard you train or try to lose weight???

first thing I'd like to tell you about is what happens when our bellies and babies grow, our rectus abdominal muscle separate into two halves left and right, they spread apart at the bodies mid line fascia, the Linea Alba.

widening and thinning of the mid line tissue occurs in response to the force of the uterus pushing against the abdominal wall, in conjunction with pregnancy and hormones that soften the connective tissue, A mid line of more than 2 to 2.5 finger-widths
or 2 centimeters , is considered problematic.
Diastasis recti can occur at anytime in the last half of pregnancy when the abdominal wall is fax and the inner mid line tissue remains too wide, causing problems

Diastasis recti can also be seen in infants and adults with excessive abdominal fat.

I am here to tell you it's not too late and it can be fixed and repaired with the proper nutrition and core  stabilizers development exercises!!! Plus lots of heavy lifting
even just picking up the heaviest dumbbell that you think you can carry and go walking around the gym with them in a farmer carry will help develop those muscles, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
I am a person with this after going under the knife for three kids i have had a substantial amount abdominal separation, with organs being moved around and take in and out, I also have quite a bit of scar tissue around my mid section and a decent layer of fat that I'm saving just for the heck of it!!!

So give it a shot work on the developing that core/ midsection of your body, by doing some planking
perhaps only try holding one for ten seconds and don't forget to breathe and squeeze your abs.

Strength does not come from physical capacity, it comes from indomitable will. ~GANDHI

Find your fit!!!!

hi, so I'm working on writing about my fitness journey, although this may take a while, it will absolutely be a good worth while read, thank you for your time,

Since Jan 3, 2013 I have decided that I wasn't happy with my life and the
way I felt playing with my kids, I would get winded just jogging with them in the back yard, so I made so abrupt changes. first i started to look at what i was eating, and i wasnt exercising, alot but i began twice a day . . .   back in my younger years I was a cheerleader and man did I have some killer looking legs, and my belly was flat and I was happy and healthy.

the last year and a half I've been seeing a therapist, really searching within myself to see who I wanted to become, to find out who I really am and what I'm worth , and believing in myself.  see after losing my parents I've been through a lot of things, and just like anyone else, life goes on and I have three beautiful children that I wanted to be healthy for.

around march time I decided that I would sign up for some classes at the y and maybe spice things up a bit, little did I know what that actually meant for me.  I went to my first turbo kick class and I thought oh man I am never coming back, ugh but laurie the teacher said don't worry your gonna hate it but then you're gonna love it even more. so for the next eight weeks I drug myself to turbo kick there were days I'd rather be laying on the couch all comfy and frumpy and grumpy, but I liked being out of the house among other women it was a bit empowing, and even encouraging at times.

then I started going to the fitness center couple times a week, didn't really know what I was doing but I was determined to learn. Was I losing weight, no not really, was I getting results, maybe, was I eating right?? Definetly not!!!
so I talked with laurie about what I can do to sort of speed things up?? she suggested eating a good breakfast, hmm who knew right?? so I tried it, I felt better and better everytime I went to workout because my body had fuel to work with.
still not seeing results! I got frustrated and wanted to quit, but I soon learned they have personal trainers ?? hmm interesting I thought about it, I liked seeing them with their clients, it looked like they were having fun and the clients looked healthy too!!
so talked it over with my husband, about meeting with one to kinda see where I stood, could I be a client? Was I trainable?? did I want those stunning results (hell yes)
so I turned in my information to the manager and I waited, a day or two, but I got a call, it was a man?? hmm bryan never heard of him around the gym, he said he was pretty new to the YMCA and asked if I could meet with him, mind you I'm in the middle of doing a billion and one things at time, plus I think I was driving (bad mom). so I agreed to meet with him, after going over some first official fitness 101 protocol and weights and measurements, we talked about my fitness goals, weight loss,  and learning equipment, two simple goals, or so I thought.  he suggested eating right, getting my cardio in by going to turbo kick, and then he'd show me around and get me familiar with the equipment!!!
